Zion Peak Rock Quarry

Peak 6275 unofficially known as quotprogeny peakquot is a nondescript and mostly unnoticed mountain formation in the east canyon, located just east of the east temple and upper pine creek. a hike to the top and back takes only a few hours and provides fantastic views in every direction.

May 18, 2018nbsp018332there are other places to explore in the park that are not as busy as zion canyon, such as kolob canyons, the kolob terrace road, and the east side of the park. if you do visit during peak season, expect to see a lot of other people on the trails and shuttle. it is not uncommon for hundreds of people to hike to angels landing or the narrows.

An alternate view of the quarry. the lone peaks quarry is an openpit mine in the south of the white mountain district, just west of the rockridge dam.it is a deep mine divided by a narrow waterway across the middle and is probably run by the same mining company as tindles mine.it features many ramps and paths as well as several discoveries making it similar to the eastern shore airfield.

For these, and perhaps other, reasons, a number of peaks in zion national park have no documented ascents. this peak didnt see its first ascent until 2001. not exactly a park full of peakgimmes, most of zions peaks require considerable effort, a lot of nerve, andor some extraordinary routefinding.
